Weekends go by so fast...

Crazy weekend! Friday night my friend Gina got married. The whole evening was a blast! The ceremony was very beautiful and I tried to behave myself the best I could, but all I could think about was the movie Wedding Crashers. I think Theresa and I got a not so good look from the pastor/priest. We all tore up the dance floor and we actually were one of the last ones to leave. Its always weird to have one of your friends get married...everyone is growing up!
My family has been playing poker at night lately and for actual money! I thought I could out bluff my brother and make him back out but I lost a good share of pennies the first night. Then last night I thought I would try something new by not looking at my cards and just keep betting. A couple of hands I actually one and I think it keeps the pressure off. Because if I know if I have a really good or bad hand, my face can't lie. But if I have no idea then I am able to psych people out. We shall see how well I do next time.
Going out tonight with my family to celebrate my birthday since I will be in CHICAGO (you have to say it like that!) for my actual birthday. Should be good times.
I wanted to leave with this article because I could so see this happening to me. If this guy had a blog it would totally cancel out my umbrella story! READ:

How you know your grandpa is cool...

So I went to dinner last night with my grandparents and my grandma from Colorado. It was nice to just chat and have dinner together. I tried to get over my fear of tequila (if you dont know the story, I basically had a bad experience with tequila and havent forgiven it yet for what it did to me) and have a straight up margarita. This sucker was STRONG. Flashbacks started to take effect and wasnt sure if I would be able to finish. While I thought no one was looking, I would add a little water to mine. There was no way I would be able to finish it without diluting it a bit. I was amazed that both of my grandparents were able to drink theirs and still be able to walk. I would have been on the floor.
After dinner we were standing outside and I mentioned that we might be going out for my birthday this Saturday since I will be gone over my actual birthday. Then my grandpa goes:
"Oh yeah, thats right your going to CHI-TOWN (chicago)."
I was never more proud. Maybe chi-town has been used back in the day but the first time I heard someone say it was from Kayne West. Maybe he has a secret rap collection and listens to them while no one is looking and slipped when he said chi-town. SECRETS out!
Other news...my MOM COMES HOME TODAY. She has been in a freezers also known as Alaska for 2 weeks. Its been hard lying to her when she says its -17 degrees outside with snow and I try to pretend its not 50 some degress with sunshine. Now since my Grandma is visiting we can finally out number the boys. The end of the Frat house is near!

Working is really cutting into my blogging time!

I'm finding I don't have time to blog at work much anymore. Maybe I need to talk about this with my boss...
Had an awesome time at Gina's bachelorette party this past Saturday. I seriously have not laughed so hard in a very long time. My stomach still hurt on Monday! Who knew picture taking could be so funny?! I knew I had to drive back to Fremont that night so I didn't party too hard but it was still fun! We also had a rival batchelorlette party come in, but we reclaimed our turf and they quickly left. Im glad we all got a chance to hang out before Gina's big day!
On Sunday I took a break from my marathon cleaning schedule and was nice and took Jasmine down to the golf course. After we started walking for awhile I realized my shoes felt funny. I looked down and realized I had put on two totally different tennis shoes! Then I left Jasmine run on the driving range for a minute and she took off running in and out of the forest and passing the 200 yards mark. Me being stupid but not wearing a jacket, I decided it was time to start heading home. I began trying to get Jasmine to come back to the car. She kept going and going. I would yell her name and whistle and she would stop stare at me and continue going. I felt sorry for her for a second because I realize she has a major case of cabin fever. But then my hands started to freeze so I knew it was time to go. But oh no, she made me walk all the way to the end and call her a bad dog before she would come. Not a happy mother! Right when we got home she ran right over the bad dog corner. I made up with her later but I still think she's mad at me. What can you do?
Well I better get back to watching the monitor to see if the video cuts out randomly. Be jealous of my job!

CHICAGO!

It's official...Im going to Chicago for my birthday! Cannot wait! I think it will be the perfect spot to turn the big 25. I'm just hoping the weather holds out to something decent and that theres not a huge blizzard or something.
I have been getting really excited to be flying and getting out of NE for a couple of days but last night I freak thought came into my head. What if something happens to the plane? But I pushed this thought aside because I didnt want to become one of those people who develop a huge fear of flying and cannot travel by plane. Then, I was reading today about how new terrorist threats are in the beginning stages of planning out attacks on the US. Great. Fear reinstated.
I will get over it, but it just figures the minute I actually break out of Fremont all these "signs" say STAY IN THE BUBBLE!
Random fact for you: Did you know that even on the windiest days the Sears Tower only sways 6 inches! This leads me to think..SHOULD THE BUILDING BE SWAYING AT ALL!

Two stories since you have been good

Went to break this morning with the intention to read a couple of pages with my book and enjoy my little cup of applesauce. I got up to the break room and found the "regulars" were already head first into their papers and books. Just as I got ready to try and blend in with the wall like I always do, The Lady with Major Issues (TLMI for short) entered the room. No matter where I see this woman or come into contact with her she is always talking to someone about all the sad things going on in her life. Her dad is really sick, her husband has a brain tumor, theres no money, the new Harry Potter movie did not follow the book like it should, etc. Well today when I thought she couldn't get worse, she did. I was just getting into my book when someone made the mistake of asking how her weekend was. Of course she replied with "oh...not so good..." To make a long story short, okay it might be long, there was a miscommunication with her 18 yr. old daughter and when she was supposed to pick her up at the airport. Well when she finally picked her up the daughter started getting mouthy and TLMI threatened to slap her because she called her a bad name. Well the daughter I guess pressed the last button and she slapped her on the face which resulted in a bloody nose for the daughter and TLMI cut her finger on the daughters tooth. Then the daughter threatened to jump out of the car while she was going 30 MPH so she grabbed her daughter by her hair and said "You might leave but your hairs not going anywhere." TLMI thought she wasn't being abusive her daughter, it was a punishment! I don't think it was serious enough for like assault charges kind of thing but who tells that kind of story in PUBLIC! I had to leave because this woman has obviously lost enough marbles to be telling this story outloud and might be ready to explode at any second. I'm sure I will get to hear an update tomorrow...yeah for me.
In other news, since I can't afford a ipod and Santa forgot to bring my laptop this Christmas (wink, hint hint) I thought I could have the illusion of being cool and take to work my $1.00 radio from Wal-mart. Its just a really small, clip-on radio with earplugs that look like it might be connected to a ipod. Well as I set out my lunch, I tried to get my radio to work so I could tune out the high school lunchroom atmosphere I was surrounded by. Well the only way the stupid thing would work is if I held the earplugs in with one hand. This means I was left with one free hand to eat a salad and turn the pages of my paper. Red flags should have been flying the moment I even attempted to do this. Salad pieces were flying and I kept losing the grip on the radio so the station would disappear. Finally I gave up and started eating my orange that I had prepared earlier by cutting into fourths. This is an easy task at home but a little more difficult in public. It only took one slipping out of my hands and bouncing across the table to make me stop. I'm starting to think the student center is not the place for me. I guess I should go back to eating in my car.

boring...

let the count down begin...It is exactly 1 month until my birthday!!
Okay..I have gotten some reader feedback that has suggested that my blog has become boring. I wont say names (3 letter word, starts and ends with M!) but he/she might have a point. I'm sorry that I haven't had a huge umbrella/table topple over on me or forgot to wear an under shirt under my very shear shirt in a couple of months. All I got is a bitter, old co-worker to blog about but after awhile there is only so much people want to hear you complain about. Who cares that she got lectured me on how I DIDNT have to take out staples before putting things in the shredder (am I the only one who see's a problem with this?).
Getting back to my point....I have decided to include some links of things you can do since my blog is so boring. Hopefully I will trip down the stairs today and have a fun story tomorrow...until then, here you go:
quizzes and more

I'm back!

Glad to be back at work...NOT so much! The time didn't seem to go as fast as I thought it would be I still could not seem to fit in blogging time during my 10 days off (I love being a university employee)!
Christmas was good but it seemed to be over before I was ready. I got a digital camera which I am really excited about because that means I can post more pictures!! Went to Lincoln for New Years (see photos below) and had a really good time. Found the line for the bathroom at Brothers to be ridiculous!! Glad Subway was across the street!
I enjoy squirrel hunting with Jasmine during the week. Her and I would go and place bread and cherrios on the back porch and then sit inside and watch them. I was surprised how calm she was most of the time. After they would leave, I would let her out to reclaim her land which was almost as funny.
Still trying to get my birthday trip to Chicago finalized. Anyone interested? I'm having a "Going over the hill at 25" fiesta!
Well thats all I got for now...hope you enjoyed the pictures!
