History Lesson

Last night my brother, mom and I were sitting at the dining room table looking through a book I found while cleaning out the basement. Its a history book of Fremont, and has pictures of how Fremont looked between 1800-1920 (i think?) and its interesting to see how much the town has changed. I came to a page that showed the building of the railroad tracks in town. I made the comment that if I was around then I would have done away with all the railroad tracks because I LOATH trains and would be okay if they all were suddenly gone. Nothing is more frustrating that running late in the morning and hitting a train. Every morning its like I have to dodge two bullets because of the tracks I have to cross. Okay...thats not the point of this blog...just had to get that out!
My mom then asked: "Okay, if you could go back to that time right now, what would you get involved in?"
I quickly replied with real estate and got a high five from my mom. I totally would too. I would buy all the land that now Wal-Marts still on and be a millionaire! Of course I would have never seen that money but my children's-children times 5 would be the first "Hilton" children.
My brother took a minute but then answered: "I would get involved with computers." I almost had another "drink-coming-out-of-my-nose" moment. Might need to get him a history book because I'm pretty sure computers werent around in the 1800's. But if they were, Im sure Bill Gates would not be who he is today because my brother would have developed the Microsoft monopoly first!
