Eventful

Eventful weekend...to say the least. Mom is still in the hospital and doing a little better, I think. I'm just hoping she was actually able to get some sleep last night. I wish I could have stayed home today. There is not much I can do, other than sit and watch her sleep but it still would have been nice to be with her. I probably would have taken the day off but my boss was going to be gone on vacation and I knew I couldn't leave meryl alone..I would never hear the end of it. Well I walked into work and meryl looked up and said "Go talk to Marion, she's here!" All I could think of it was a trick about her going on vacation and she choose today to fire me. My eyes must have been huge because my boss was walking out of her office, probably because she heard meryl squawking at me. She laughed a little bit, and said "I just couldn't leave you guys alone." A sigh of relief came over me. I have been called into the bosses office before and when the discussion was bad, it didn't usually start with a joke.
Come to find out, there had been a family issue and she wasn't able to start on her vacation. I immediately thought about taking the afternoon off. I decided to think about it and started working. Then meryl was like "I need to call my husband and tell him I am taking the afternoon off." She is getting new cabinets in her kitchen and she was wants to be there to watch! Are you serious! So while she sits there and watches somebody put in cabinets, I could be sitting in a hospital with my MOTHER keeping her company. What can you do though. I hope while she's not watching they put them all in backwards and leave before she notices! oppps, there goes the evil horns again. I better stop before the tail comes out too!
