Quick fixes for a BAD day

(continued...wink wink)
So after having an extremely bad day I was excited to hear that my mom suggest that I pick up Panera for her and myself on the way home. Panera is a happy place, very relaxing and stress free. I stepped up to the counter and began to order what I have been longing for only to hear in the background "The only thing we are out of is the Fontega Chicken...". My hope sank and that ball in my stomach started to cramp up again, like it had done all day. Of course, the one thing that would have helped my dad, they were out of. I make another choice just wanting to leave the city of despair and return home.
I got into my car and I could only think of one thing that would help turn this day around. I needed to listen to some relaxing music. Something without commercials or annoying DJ's trying to make stupid jokes. I grabbed my CD case knowing exactly what would help...my Christmas CD's. I popped in my NOW Christmas CD with old school songs/singers and almost immediately my spirits were lifted. Thoughts of chesnuts roasting on an open fire, jingle bells and knowing santa Claus would be coming to town filled my head. I almost wished it would have started snowing and someone would already have Christmas lights up on their house. If you are into Christmas music, I encourage you to listen to it when its "out of season." You don't have the season stress quite yet and you are able to better enjoy the songs.
By the time I got home the red glow coming from my eyes had gone away and thoughts of Janet* had left me completely. I enjoyed a lovely dinner with my mom and retired to my room to top off the night with a showing of Mary Poppins. My parents were nice enough to rent it for me the other night and there is nothing better at the end of a bad day hearing:
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

* I had some help coming up with a name a little less obvious! thanks Joelle!
